Maggie in Paris

Hi, it's been a while since I've posted on the blog. I was fed up with platform I used before. Now I've moved to blogger and keeping my blog under control seems much easier!

Princess Coat

[This post has been moved from older version of the blog and is from February 6, 2016]

One of my favourite things about making my own clothes is when I feel that my limitations are little by little gone. The time comes for more and more complicated garments and I find them much easier to make than I would have expected. This is very nice feeling :)
I was about to go to Finland with my friends in February and I thought it will be very cold there (it turned out that global warming, also reached the North and the temperature during my entire stay fell only to -5 °C at night!). Anyway, I was in need of a warm swing coat!

Płaszcza, którego szycie pójdzie szybko i sprawnie.

Winter circle skirts

[This post has been moved from older version of the blog and is from February 6, 2016]

This winter belongs to circle skirts, at least in my closet. I love these made from wool blend fabric, they are warm and hold they shape very well.

My latest skirt was inspired by this graphic I have in my room. Very stylish girl, isn't she? This artwork was created by my friend Geekabilly Doll (be sure to like her profile on facebook, she makes amazing stuff!).

U mnie ta zima zdecydowanie należy do spódnic z koła.

Bleeding Heart Sweater

[This post has been moved from older version of the blog and is from February 1, 2016]

I'm sure you all you 1940s-lovers know this famous picture from Life magazine. Model wearing outfit with bleeding heart applique. These kind of sweaters and dresses were first created by Susan Dannenberg in early 1940s and if you are interested you can read more about them on Tuppence Ha'penny blog

I have dreamed about sweater like this forever. Recently I caught a cold and was forced to spend whole week at home so I decided to be creative. I had some red and black acrylic felt, silver thread and I was good to go! Most time consuming about applique was embroidering the blade with the silver thread. That's easy to avoid if you use light grey felt for a blade instead of black, but I think brocade-like thread adds extra glamour which is always good, right? Then sewing the rhinestones was the final touch!
